Milton Glaser was an American graphic designer whose psychedelic style of art is the embodiment of graphic design in the second half of the 20th century. I chose to use Milton Glaser’s iconic style to explore color variations.

David Bowie was a natural choice for this project because his hair was already so reminiscent of a Milton Glaser poster.
I selected the red and green palettes from images of red and green peppers. In Bowie’s darkest days (c. 1976) he subsisted off a steady diet of cocaine, peppers, and milk. I selected the color palette for the version titled Life on Mars from the video of Bowie’s hit song with the same title.
